What Are the Causes of the Burnout Syndrome?

Exhaustion, weariness and a feeling of being burnt out. You may know these feelings if the demands in your job are high. Your body is signalizing: "It's too much!"

If this signal ignored and the stress level remains constant, physical issues and depressive symptoms are likely to be added.

The burnout syndrome has become part of our professional life; and many factors favour the development of burnout: high demands, long working hours, missing appreciation, as well as peronal difficulties to relax at the end of a working day.

How Can I Protect Myself from Burnout?

It is important to take breaks in your everyday life: create a safe haven for body and soul, a time for relaxation that belongs to you alone. In some cases, you may need to rethink your attitude towards the job, the ability to distance yourself at the right time can be very important.

In my counselling, I offer you a range of relaxation techniques that can be combined flexibly. Thus, you will be able to create your individual "relaxation programme". Methods to stop rumination, may help you to wind down at the end of a day. In addition, we will evaluate your attitude towards your job and your professional life, your sense of self and your ability to distance yourself from your professional life at the right times.

Return to your work place invigorated and full of energy!
